The DGX-660 is an 88-note graded hammer weighted keyboard. The lower keys have a heavier weight than the higher keys just like in a real grand piano. Practicing on the GHS action helps build the proper technique and strength needed to perform on a real acoustic piano. The DGX-660 features Yamaha’s Pure CF sound engine developed through years of history making pianos and state-of-the-art sampling technology. This allows them to recreate sounds like the famous Yamaha CFIIIS 9-foot concert grand piano inside the DGX-660 sound library. Damper Resonance digitally reproduces the vibration between strings on acoustic pianos. Just like an acoustic piano, when the damper pedal is used in a performance, other strings add sonic color to the notes you play until the pedal is released.

The DGX-660 keyboard has great sounds built in. However, you can take them even further with all of the effects that this creative piano offers. The DGX-660 provides a dedicated virtual space where you can choose from a variety of pianos and acoustic settings. This lets you create your own personal practice and performance environment. Just pick the sound you want and choose a room like a club or concert hall. You can even adjust the setting of the piano lid just like the real thing. The Yamaha DGX-660 has a microphone input. This allows you the ability to sing along while you play or with pre-recorded karaoke song files. Three convenient presets are provided for different vocal performance situations. You can even create and save your own original microphone settings. Add professional reverb and chorus effects for even more excitement.

Modern features mean more fun playing

When you want more from a keyboard, the DGX-660 delivers. It has an LCD screen that’s easy to read and provides important information. You can switch from score or lyric display to show you notation for any MIDI song that the DGX-660 is playing. Read the music for songs that are already built-in or download additional songs from Yamaha MusicSoft. You can even see the score for songs you’ve created yourself on the DGX-660. The Smart Chord feature lets you play entire chords with one note. You can already sound like a pro even when you’re just starting out. The DGX-660 also has accompaniment styles that create a virtual band to play along with you. Another great feature is the USB audio recording and playback function. You can copy songs to your computer to make CDs, share over the Internet or transfer to your portable music player using a USB flash drive.

Go wireless with some additional options

Optional wireless adaptors from Yamaha stream audio and MIDI to and from your iOS device with compatible music apps. The Chord Tracker app takes full advantage of this technology, allowing you to play back songs from your iOS device song library wirelessly through the DGX-660’s speaker system. Chord Tracker analyzes the audio songs stored in your iOS device and then displays the chord symbols for you. It can even create an XF song file that plays back the entire song using the DGX-660’s accompaniment styles.
